Our Mission:
This year we are exchanging our hiking boots for gardening gloves as we embark on AKIM-Jerusalem's 2-day Spring Mission to the South of Israel.
The dates are Sunday 31 March to Monday 1 April .
We will be staying overnight at Shermans Hotel , Sde Boker.
The mission's twin objectives are to provide much-needed practical assistance to Israel's overburdened farmers while demonstrating our continuing commitment to AKIM-Jerusalem's residents .
We look forward to the participation in the mission of our regular trekkers and to welcoming supporters of AKIM-Jerusalem who may never have joined our fundraising treks over the past 20 years.
Together, we will help the farmers to harvest and pack fruit and vegetables and we will also be visiting some local tourist sites under the expert guidance of Ian Brown.
Please note that the registration cost for our mission is NIS 750, a subsidized rate which includes accommodations, meals, and transportation, t- shirts and hats). The cost for registering a child is NIS 650. After you register, you will receive a link to a sponsorship page on JGIVE.
Usually we encourage trekkers to attain through sponsorship and other means fixed monetary targets. For the canceled trek the aim was to raise NIS 5,000 per participant . Each and every gift on our Spring Mission will be meaningful
We are encouraging everyone to approach their regular sponsors to tell them what we , the AKIM-Jerusalem family , are doing to play our part in Israel's national resilience efforts.
