You are invited to sign up today for our 21st annual  Akim-Jerusalem trek

Our Trek

AKIM-Jerusalem invites you to join our MILES FOR SMILES trek through the beautiful Jerusalem Hills region this fall. The trek will take place on November 8-9, 2023.

This marks our 21st  trek--and we look forward to enlisting long-time friends and newcomers on our extraordinary 15-20 kilometer (10-12 mile) journey.

You will enjoy beautiful vistas in good company--and with each step you will support therapeutic programs which make a transformative difference in the lives of children, adults, and aging members of our special community of people with cognitive disabilities.

Together we will embark on a gentle two-day hike, beginning at Park Ayalon and concluding in the Maale Hahamisha/Abu Ghosh Region.  We will stay overnight at the Yearim Hotel. Our second day will begin at the Stalactite Cave Nature Reserve and will conclude along a path near Road 38.

As always, we welcome trekkers of all ages, from across Israel and overseas. Depending on the amount of participants, we are planning to have activities  for Children and youth, such as laser tag to rock climbing.

For the adults, evening will be restful, with light-hearted socializing, conversation and brief updates from our AKIM-Jerusalem leadership,

You are  invited to save the date: November 8-9, 2023.

Take your first step forward by registering  ( NIS 800 registration fee).  You'll receive the link to our campaign page so that you can begin to enlist family and friends in supporting our expedition.  Our goal is to advance our foremost priorities in enhancing the quality of life, health and well-being of people with cognitive disabilities. Together, we will support  adapted sports activities to cultural enrichment and therapparamedical therapies that we could not otherwise include in our program. Together, we will ensure that the members of our community will be able to live their lives to the fullest.
